In general the Halogen is slightly brighter than the 1watt LED (SS Series) and can focus into a smaller more intense spot.  However the 1 watt LED puts off a homogenous beam in pure white while being completely portable  so there is a trade off.  In general the 1watt SS series should offer a sufficient amount of light in situations where it is not competing with bright tightly focused overhead lights as you would find in an operatory.   The 700 Series 3watt LED's are the brightest lights we manufacture.  You get the portability and beam quality benefits of LEDs and a brighter beam than the 10watt Halogen.
