What is the
performance difference between the Halogen and the LED lights? In general the Halogen
is slightly brighter than the 1 watt LED (SS Series) and can focus into
a smaller more intense spot. However the 1 watt LED puts off a
homogenous beam in pure white while being completely portable so
there is a trade off. In general the 1 watt SS series should
offer a sufficient amount of light in situations where it is not
competing with bright tightly focused overhead lights as you would find
in an operatory. The 700 Series 3 watt LED's are the
brightest lights we manufacture. You get the portability and beam
quality benefits of LEDs and a brighter beam than the 10 watt Halogen. How many candle power/mscp/lux etc.. is the light? There is no standard way to measure the light in the usable beam. All available measurements are only meaningful when comparing two lights with identical beam patterns and physical area. Candle power in particular can be the most misleading measurement of light since the beam is not measured just a angle within the beam usually only covering the brightest spot in the beam. Since any number we give would be useless or even serve to confuse someone trying to compare brands or models we instead try lead the customer to the light best suited for the task at hand. If you call our factory we can tell with good confidence if the light will meet your needs. We do not like getting lights back, and that means being responsible about how we represent our products. If it doesn't work for me, can I return it? Yes, There is a 30 day return privilege on all Light-Tech lights. Can I add the battery and charger later? Yes. How long does the
battery last? The battery last about an hour and requires 12 hours to
recharge on Halogen lights. 700 Series LED lights run for about
5.5 hours and require a 2 hour charge. The NiCD cells
typically have a lifespan of 500-1000 charges depending on the type of
usage they see. In our experience this has meant 3-5 years in the
field to the users of the model #375 battery pack. We use NiCd
cells because they are the most durable of rechargeable battery
technologies. Li-ion cells typically survive only 2-3 years
whether you use them or not. UPDATE! -
We now offer Nano-phosphate Li-Ion Cells for our 700 Series of
lights. These cells are by far the most durable rechargable cells
we can obtain. These cells can survive 10+ years (15+ according
to the cell manufacturer) and well over 7000 charge/discharge
cycles. Even after 2000 cycles the cells should still have over
95% of their origonal capacity. How long does the bulb last? The bulb is rated for 100 hours. Is it safe to buy online? All your transactions are protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology. SSL encrypts your credit card number, name, address, and phone number before they travel over the Internet. This makes doing business over the Internet as secure as purchasing by telephone. |
